Basic Info

The Basic Info tab for calendars enables you to display and define information about calendar IDs and the number of days in the calendar's patterns.

If more than one shift, location, department, or employee has the same work hours and holidays, define a single calendar ID for that schedule and assign each of the appropriate shifts, organizations, or employees to that calendar ID.

The following screens associate locations, shifts, departments, and employees with the calendar IDs defined on this screen.

When you update information on this tab, the changes take effect after you use the Generate tab to compute the calendar.

Detail View Header

The field in the top section of this tab defines the data that displays.

Calendar ID

Identifier of the calendar currently selected in the grid or that you are defining. If the ID already exists, its description displays to the right of the ID. This field has a list box.

Each calendar ID represents a work schedule pattern, including hours, shifts, and holidays, which you can assign to any number of locations, departments, and/or employees who can be scheduled for work. If there is more than one shift, define a calendar ID for the entire day, which you can assign to departments and locations, and a calendar ID for each shift, which you can assign to employees.

Calendar based on time zone

The time zone this calendar is based on. This field is populated automatically according to the time zone of the application server.

Detail View

The bottom section of this tab contains the data fields that define the calendar. Unless otherwise indicated, these fields are required.

Description

Description of the calendar currently selected in the grid or that you are defining.

Number of days in pattern

Number of days that pass before the pattern repeats itself. Patterns can range from 1 to 60 days, and a 7-day pattern starts on Sunday and ends on Saturday. For example, if a shop operates from Monday through Friday each week and is closed on weekends, it has 7 days in its pattern. If a shop operates the same hours 7 days a week, it has 1 day in its pattern.
