Capital Scoring Rules

The Capital Scoring Rules screen enables you to create scoring rules. A capital scoring rule is a unique combination of a group and an element (i.e., a capital asset grouping ID and a capital score element ID). Capital scoring rules weigh the elements for a given group against each other and translate the data returned from the element (query) to a numeric score. The result is the sum of the weighted scores for each equipment unit in the group. The screen has one tab, Basic Info.

The fields in the bottom section of this tab enable you to define query results and assign values to them.

Value ranges Data Table

If the expected output of the rule query (Element) is text, then add a line for each possible text output and enter a corresponding score effect value. For example, the query might return values of HIGH, MEDIUM, or LOW. In this example, HIGH is worth a score of 30, MEDIUM is worth a score of 20, and LOW is worth a score of 10.

If the expected output of the rule query (Element) is numeric, add a line for the score to be assigned to each range of possible numeric values. For example, the query might return values of 1-10. In this example, a range of 1-3 is worth a score of 10, 4-7 is worth a score of 20, and 8-10 is worth a score of 30.
