Equipment Class - Renumbering

The Equipment Class - Renumbering screen enables you to renumber equipment classes.

When you process an insert on this screen, all occurrences of the Old equipment class ID in the database are replaced with the value in the New equipment class ID field (including the history of entries made under the old equipment class ID). This process may take a considerable amount of time, depending on the number of database entries for the old equipment class ID.

Data in the fields in the bottom section of this tab specify the change. Unless otherwise indicated, these fields are required.

Old equipment class ID

Old identifier of the equipment class. It must be a valid equipment class ID. This field has a list box. The equipment class name displays to the right of the ID. Equipment classes are defined on the Basic Info tab of the Data -> Equipment Units -> Setup -> Equipment Class -> Primary Information screen.

New equipment class ID

Equipment class' new identifier. To merge the history of the old equipment class ID into the new equipment class ID, the latter must already be defined. If it is already defined, the equipment class name displays to the right of the ID.
