Cut a consist

To cut a consist:

Step 1.  In the upper grid, select the consist to which you want to record a cut.

• Note: The consist must have a status of either ACTIVE or INACTIVE.

Step 2.  Click the Prepare for Update button.

Step 3.  In the Status field, change the status to CUT.

The equipment list can now be edited.

Step 4.  In the Date and time activated field, type the date and time that the new equipment list becomes effective. If the equipment unit that you are assigning to this consist is already assigned to an overlapping consist, you will be asked if you want to cut the other consist in order to assign the equipment to this consist. If you click OK, FASuite will automatically record a cut for the other consist in addition to processing the cut you are recording on the selected consist.

Step 5.  Click the Process button.

The system assigns an INACTIVE status to the consist from which the equipment was cut. It creates new records and updated equipment lists for both the original consist and the consist to which the equipment was added. It also creates history records for both consists.
