Addresses


The Addresses tab enables you to add address IDs to rail equipment. Detailed address information for address IDs is set up on the Addresses screen.

The Rail Equipment screen supports location level and department-level access control, so you must belong to a user group with the applicable authorizations to make changes or updates.

Detail View Header

The field in the top section of this tab defines the data that displays.

Equipment ID

Identifier of the equipment unit currently selected in the grid or that you are defining. This field has a list box. If the ID already exists, the equipment unit year, manufacturer, and model display to the right of the ID.

New equipment unit

Press the New equipment unit button to activate the New Equipment Wizard, which steps you through entering the basic data elements associated with a new equipment unit.

Detail View

The fields in the bottom section of this tab define the basic information about the equipment unit. Unless otherwise indicated, these fields are required.

Delete

To delete the entries in the fields to the right, place a check in this field and click Save.

Address ID

Identifier of the address used for the equipment. If an address ID is entered, the address ID information will be used instead of address lines 1-4. Detailed address information for address IDs is set up on the Addresses screen.

Full address

The address associated with the Address ID field. This field is display only.

Searchable

Check this field to make the address ID searchable in the asset chooser in the web modules.

Description

Description of the address for further information.

Address type

An open text field to enter extra information to distinguish the type of address this is, such as a loading dock, side entrance, etc.
