Attribute Definitions |
The Attribute Definitions screen allows you to define or manage attributes to be used on service requests.
Attribute ID
Identifier of the attribute to which you would like to define information.
Name
User definable name for the attribute. This field is required and must be unique.
Attribute type
A generated number that cannot be changed by the user.
Input type
Choicelist that includes TEXT, NUMERIC, or DATE options. Selection of option is required.
Always require input
If checked, input will always be required.
Custom checklist settings
Allows the selection of a custom list.
Custom list type
This is only allowed when input type is TEXT. Must be a valid custom list.
Allow values not defined in custom choicelist
If checked, values that are not defined in custom choicelist will be allowed.
Numeric settings
Validate allowable minimum
If checked, the allowable minimum will be validated.
Allowable minimum
A number that must be 0/blank when the input type is TEXT or DATE.
Validate allowable maximum
If checked, the allowable maximum will be validated.
Allowable maximum
A number that must be 0/blank when the input type is TEXT or DATE.
Defaults
Text value
Must be blank unless input type is TEXT. If choicelist is defined and "Allow values not defined in custom choicelist" is unchecked, the value must come from the choicelist.
Numeric value
Must be 0/blank unless input type is NUMERIC.
Comments
Field that can be edited to add comments.
Asset categories will always be enforced when using attributes
Supports all asset categories
If checked, the attribute definition will support all asset categories.
Can be used without an asset category
If checked, the attribute definition can be used without an asset category.

Delete
Check the delete box and click Save to delete a row.

Choicelist to select asset categories.
Description
The description is auto-populated based on the selected asset category. It cannot be edited.
