Reporting Sources |
The Reporting Sources screen enables you to define reporting sources. A reporting source is the type of person or system that created the service request. Reporting sources include customers, mechanics, and diagnostic systems. Reporting sources can help you distinguish between service requests entered by dispatchers or customers and service requests generated by automated interfaces to the vehicle.
The top section of the tab displays the symptom either currently selected in the grid or that you are defining.
Reporting source ID
Identifier of the reporting source. Maximum field length is 20 characters. This field has a list box. The source description displays in the unlabeled field to the right. This field is required.
Description
Text description of the reporting source. Maximum field length is 30 characters.
Note: You cannot delete reporting sources that are in use on a service request in OPEN or PENDING status or on a symptom.
