Part Information

The Part Information tab displays parts that have a stock status of ON DEMAND - PROMOTABLE for the specified location and meet the specified criteria for promotion to STOCKED. The Stock Status Upgrade screen supports location level access control, so you must belong to a user group with the applicable authorizations to make changes or updates.

The fields on the tab display status information about parts. All fields are display only. To populate the screen, use the filter to specify a location ID. You must have the authority to process parts inventory transactions at the location. The parts that display on the stock statue upgrade screen based are based on the criteria, but these include only the previous months, not the current month.

Detail View

Part ID

Valid identifier of the part at the location specified in the filter and for which you want to upgrade the status. The ID is associated with the part suffix. The part description displays to the right of the ID.

Part suffix

Number associated with the part in the Part ID field.

Location ID

Identifier of the parts location where the part's stock status is being upgraded. This field has a list box. The location description displays to the right of the ID.

Promotion category

Specifies the basis on which the part meets the criteria for upgrade:

Total issue quantity

Number of issue units of the part which were issued during the time period in which the part qualified for upgrade based on the promotion category of ISSUES.

Quantity purchase orders

Number of orders placed for the part during the time period in which the part qualified for upgrade based on the promotion category of QUICK ORDERS.

Promotion criterion

Applies only when promotion category specifies ISSUES. This displays either or 1 or 2 depending on which tests is satisfies as described below:

  1. The part satisfies the first available test for upgrading. The first test is the first line of the Criteria for conversion section under the Inventory tab of the Data -> Setup -> Organization Structure -> Locations -> Primary Information screen. This refers to the Ordered more than ___ times within ___ months on purchase orders with specified purchase types.

  2. The part satisfied the second available test for upgrading. The second test is the second and third line of the Criteria for conversion section under the Inventory tab of the Data -> Setup -> Organization Structure -> Locations -> Primary Information screen. This refers to the Issued more than ___ units of issue in ___ months line and or more than ___ units of issue in ___months line.

Automatic upgrade

Applies only when promotion category specifies ISSUES.

If this field has a check, it indicates that the part satisfies the additional criteria required, so the stock status is updated automatically. The Manage parts ordering and Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) values field on the General tab of the Data -> Parts Items -> Setup -> Options screen determines where the software obtains the additional criteria:
