The Kit Assembly screen enables you to define information about kit assembly.
Every time you assemble or unassemble a kit, the current issue price for the kit is recalculated.
On assembly, the value of the kits you add to inventory is the sum of the products of component quantity and component current issue price for all components of the kit. That value is added to the value on hand of the kit and the current issue price for the kit is recalculated. The components removed from inventory are processed as kit assembly transactions, the quantity on hand is reduced by the quantity of each component consumed in the assembly, and the value on hand is reduced by the product of the quantity of the component multiplied by the current issue price of the component.
On unassembly, the value of the kits removed from inventory is the sum of the products of component quantity and component current issue price for all components in the kit. That value is subtracted from the kit's value on hand and the current issue price for the kit is recalculated. The components added from inventory are processed as kit unassembly transactions, quantity on hand is increased by the quantity of each component consumed in the assembly, and value on hand is increased by the product of quantity of the component multiplied by the current issue price of the component.
