Replacement Analysis Module

• Note: The Replacement Analysis module has been replaced by the Performance Analysis and Replacement Modeling modules in FA Web Modules. Both modules are browser-based only.

The Replacement Analysis module for Oracle databases identifies the optimum replacement point for each equipment unit by projecting the costs and usage for each unit for future periods. It enables identification of performance trends, such as comparing cost per meter usage for units or comparing the cost effectiveness of shop locations that service equipment units in the same equipment class.

To determine the optimum time, the module uses historical information about similar equipment units at similar points in their lives. It considers the optimum replacement point for an equipment unit to be the time at which the accumulated lifetime cost per meter unit achieves a minimum value.

Organizations can analyze the performance of vehicles compared to others in the same category. They can also set vehicles for replacement, schedule replacements, and record estimated replacement costs.  

If the Replacement Analysis module is installed, the Replacement Analysis menu is a sub-menu of the Data -> Equipment Management menu. It provides access to the following screens:

• Execute Analysis: Analyze usage costs for equipment units

• Analysis Results: Display the results of analyses executed on the  Execute Analysis screen
