The Device Data Load tab enables you to upload data from hand-held devices. MobileFocus must be installed to use hand-held devices to transfer data between the software and hand-held devices. Refer to the related documentation for these products.
Note: It is recommended that you upload data from hand-held devices frequently (at least once daily for shop operations, more frequently for operations that involve several transactions, such as part inventory counts).

If you click the Get Data button with no values in the filter, only information about run IDs for which processing has not completed displays. If you get data with any value defined in the filter, information about all runs that meet that criteria displays.
The following field, located in the top section of this tab, defines the data that displays.
Run ID
Identifier assigned to each upload. This field has a list box. The run description displays to the right of the ID. You can upload data from multiple hand-held devices under one run ID.
Data in the fields in the bottom section of the tab specify information about the data transfer. Unless otherwise indicated, these fields are required.
Run description
Description of the upload, typically used to distinguish it from other uploads. It should include the date of the data in the upload and other identifying information. Use hyphens, not slashes, to separate the date elements.
User ID uploading
Unique identifier of the user performing the upload. This field has a list box. The user name displays to the right of the ID.
Upload start date and time
Date and time (in MM/DD/YYYY HH:MM format) that the user began the upload. Display only.
Processing started
If this field has a check, processing has begun on the hand-held device data in this upload. This field is display only.
Processing completed
If this field has a check, processing has completed on the hand-held device data in this upload. This field is display only.
Load Device Data
The Load Device Data button instructs that data be read from a hand-held device attached to the PC’s serial port. You can include data from any number of hand-held devices into one upload.
If you upload data and then click NO in the message box to specify that there are no other devices to upload, you must complete that process before you can begin another. See How to load data from hand-held devices.
