The Yard Moves screen enables you to track equipment moves within the yard. Changes in current location are tracked on the Data -> Equipment Units -> Components -> Assignment History screen. All yards are visible to users, but the yard must be listed as a supported location on the Locations tab of the Data -> Shop Activity -> Setup -> Tasks -> Primary Information screen in order for a user to be able to perform moves.
Tip: To limit the display of information in the grid and maximize performance, use the filter. You can sort on move ID, date and time entered, starting/ending yard location ID, and employee ID, among other values.
The field in the top section of this tab defines the data that displays.
Move ID
Identifier of the yard move currently selected in the grid or that you are defining. Auto-populated by the software. This field is display only.
Date and time entered
Date and time (in MMDDYYYY HH:MM format) that the move data was entered.
Entered by
Identifier of the employee who entered the move. This field has a list box. The individual's name displays to the right of the ID.
The fields in the bottom section of the tab enable you to record information regarding the move (starting and ending position, move date and time), record a comment, and specify whether the move was completed. Unless otherwise indicated, these fields are required.
Equipment ID
Identifier of the equipment unit. May be either active
or inactive (you can move inactive units around the yard). This field
has a list box. The
equipment description displays to the right of the ID. This field also
has a Zoom
button to the Data
-> Equipment Units -> Fleet

Tip: You can set a zoom button for this field to detect the type of equipment and display the appropriate screen. If you used Administrator Mode to add a zoom button, you will need to use it again to remove your user-defined zoom button for this functionality to work.
When you enter an equipment ID, the starting position defaults to the equipment’s current position.
Tip: The More Info tab on the Data -> Equipment Units -> Setup -> Options screen includes options to synchronize assigned location, department, or location and department changes from the parent to all attached components.
Yard location ID
Identifier of the yard where the equipment is currently located. This field has a list box. Required if a starting position is entered.
Row
Identifier of the row in which the equipment is currently located. This field has a list box. Required if a starting position is entered.
Row information is recorded on the Data -> Equipment Management -> Yard Management -> Setup -> Yard Configuration screen.
Position
Identifier of the equipment's current position. This field has a list box. Required if a starting position is entered.
Position information is recorded on the Data -> Equipment Management -> Yard Management -> Setup -> Yard Configuration screen.
Orientation
Starting orientation of the equipment. This field has a list box. This field is optional.
Yard location ID
Identifier of the yard in the equipment's ending location. This field has a list box. Required if an ending position is entered.
Row
Identifier of the row in the equipment's ending location. This field has a list box. Required if an ending position is entered.
Row information is recorded on the Data -> Equipment Management -> Yard Management -> Setup -> Yard Configuration screen.
Position
Identifier of the equipment's ending position. This field has a list box. Required if an ending position is entered.
Position information is recorded on the Data -> Equipment Management -> Yard Management -> Setup -> Yard Configuration screen.
Orientation
Orientation of the equipment when the move was marked as completed. This field has a list box. This field is optional.
Move type ID
Identifier of the move type. This field has a list box. The type description displays to the right of the ID. This field is optional.
Date and time of move
Date and time (in MMDDYYYY HH:MM format) that the move occurred. This field is required. May be a future date if the move is not completed; must be equal to or earlier than the current date if the move is marked as completed.
by employee ID
Identifier of the employee who performed the move. This field has a list box. This field is optional.
Comment
Text field in which you can enter comments regarding the move. Maximum field length is 60 characters.
Completed
If this field has a check, the move has been completed. Also includes the date (in MMDDYYYY HH:MM format). When a move is marked as completed, the equipment unit’s new position information updates automatically.
